Straddling the Arizona/Utah border, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park is an amazing collection of mesas, buttes and spires formed over millions of years by wind and water eroding the sandstone. Numerous cliff dwellings and petroglyphs show that Native Americans lived here for centuries. Navajos still live here today. Parts of the park are accessible by public road, but the majority of it must be seen with a Navajo guide. These are some shots made on several trips there.

Monument Valley is probably best known for the movies that contain some scenes from there: Easy Rider, 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Eiger Sanction, Back to the Future III, Thelma and Louise, and Forrest Gump are some of them, in addition to many Westerns.
